Congratulations to our September member of the month, Brandi Kahaloa!

Each month, CrossFit Kuleana spotlights a member at our box who has shown great dedication to their health and fitness journey.  Today we are talking with Brandi Kahaloa, who has been at the box for a year. Hi, Brandi! Thank you for taking the time to tell us a bit about yourself and your fitness goals!

What were your goals when you started?

To challenge myself actively and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Have you achieved those original goals?

Yes!

What are your goals now?

To inspire others to become active and healthy as well.

What have you tried in the past to achieve your goals?

Diet and vigorous exercise but when the results weren’t there, I got discouraged.

What is your favorite thing about CrossFit Kuleana?

The community. Whether a member for years or a day, the support of everyone is just indescribable.

What are your favorite exercises?

I love them all! Yes, even those pesky burpees.

What is your favorite type of WOD?

I love anything involving barbells. Gymnastics is probably my 2nd favorite though I’m not proficient on the movements yet.

How has CrossFit Kuleana affected you outside the gym?

It has given me confidence in many aspects of my life. I find myself wanting to get out more and interact with people.

How has CrossFit benefited your life?

In the best way imaginable! By involving my family. My family enjoys being a part of the Crossfit community. Whether it’s cheering on Kuleana’s athletes or athletes from other boxes, my family lives Crossfit. I’ve ran many miles in my life but none has been as great as having my family with me. I owe this to Crossfit.

What would you say to people who are afraid to try CrossFit?

Just try it. But honestly, once they walk into Kuleana, get greeting by the many smiles of our members, and embraced by some warm friendly hugs, they won’t turn back. I know I didn’t!
