Kuleana I Ke Kino… Responsibility of the Body
The word “kuleana” is a very deep Hawaiian word. At a shallow glance, it means “responsibility”. Looking deeper, one can view it as a burden. One step further and one will find a relationship. For example, if YOU take care of the Land, the Land will take care of YOU. Keeping these meanings in mind, we find Kuleana Fitness: a responsibility that is a burden on one’s body. This burden creates long-term health. YOU take care of your body, your body will take care of YOU!
We believe that being “healthy” is more than just physical fitness and nutrition, which is why we strive for health AND wellness within our community. At Kuleana Fitness our members are the ones making waves in their own personal lives by portraying wellness as a skill that one must constantly practice in everyday life. We educate our members on the skills they need to reach their goals to live a happy and fulfilling life. Join us on this journey. Learn with us; Play with us; Make waves with us.

Aloha! My name is Chasen and after falling in love with the culture, traditions and island I’m proud to call Oahu home since 2009.
Born and raised in Thailand, I moved to the UK then came to Hawaii for college. Right around graduation time I realized I gained a bunch of weight and hit an all time high of 225lb from all the onolicious food offered here on the island.
Born and raised in Arkansas, JJ grew up playing competitive sports along with swimming, scuba diving, hunting, and fishing.
As someone who struggles to sit still (thank my ADD) I lead a very active lifestyle. I have played many different sports including a small semi-pro stint in MMA.

Aloha, my name is Mike and I’m a Navy Veteran. During my time in the Navy, I was a Fitness Leader for 6 years. Before CrossFit, I played football, did field events in track, & was a high-level wrestler.
I was raised on the beautiful island of O’ahu. I grew up spending my time hiking, surfing,
bodyboarding, playing soccer, and basketball. In 2011, I experienced CrossFit for the first time
and fell in love. The community, positive energy, and PR’s kept me coming back for more. In
2015, I decided to step it up and pursue coaching. I love helping people move better, improving
overall fitness, and being apart of the community. Hope to see you at Kuleana Fitness soon!
Hi my name is Adam, I’ve never been too into exercise until some time last year when I wanted to start losing weight. It started with me and friends going to the gym here and there lifting weights and learning, to going almost everyday and spending hours at a time there. The next step was learning how to Olympic lifts from my brother Ethan. Now I’m taking crossfit classes and learning more about my body and getting healthier.
